DAY 01 : ARRIVAL BOMBAY :
Early in the morning arrival at Bombay international airport, on arrival meet & greet by our local staff later transfer to hotel, Rest of the time leisure. Post lunch visit Gate Way of India & Elephenta, drive back to hotel for overnight.
DAY 02 : BOMBAY :
After breakfast full day local sightseeing visit Bombay, Prince of Wales Museum, Horniman Circle, Victoria Terminus, & Wellington Fountain. Rest of the time free for individual activity, overnight at hotel.
DAY 03 : BOMBAY-MADURAI :
Early in the morning after breakfast drive to domestic airport take flight to Madurai, on arrival at Madurai meet to our staff, drive to hotel, check in, rest of the time visit Thirumalai Nayaka Palace, this palace was built in 1636 by Thirumalai Nayaka this is the reflect of the power of Nayaka Dynasty. The architect of this palace is Islamic. Late evening visit Meenakshi Sundareshvara temple, till the evening ceremony of Shiva and Parwati. Drive back to hotel take dinner overnight at hotel.
DAY 04 : MADURAI-CHETTINAD :
After breakfast drive in the morning for Chetinnad, formerly inhabited by the chettiars; rich merchants settled there around the 19th century to protect their families from natural catastrophes. These merchants having travelled all around the world have built houses and palaces in a very peculiar style which reflects their travels. Their palaces are made of Burma Teak Wood and Cattare marble and the architecture is a blend of art deco, Chinese and Italian inspiration. Visit of Chettiar houses and traditional tile factory are peculiar palces in this region. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 05 : CHETTINAD – THANJORE :
After breakfast drive to Tanjore. In the 1st century this city was among the 15 biggest cities around the world. Thus, from the 10th till the 13th century, the Chola dynasty settled there making the city a memorable cultural centre that remains even today. For instance, the town shelters the carnatic song festival in January. Visit the Brahadeeshwara temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and recorded to the UNESCO World heritage sites. Masterpiece of the Chola architecture, this 65 meters high built by Emperor Rajaraja in the 10th century is surrounded by 252 lingams and a wall of Nandis. Discover the unique Art Gallery; and its special collection of Bronzes and stone sculptures of the Maharaja's palace located in the ancient 16th century. Visit the palace and Durbar hall, former court hall to admire its dazzling colourful sculpted ceilings. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 06 : THANJORE – SWAMIMALAI :
Early in the morning departure to Swamimali, en route discover Swamimalai local work craft's industry. In Darasuram, visit a traditional factory of Bronzes where you will be able to appreciate the art and precision of the sculptors who still work according to the second use of wax process. Then discover a family- running factory of traditional silk saris. There, you will be able to talk with the local people. Visit also the Darasuram temple, one of the most ancient temples in South India. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 07 : SWAIMAMALAI-PONDICHERRY :
Early in the morning depart to Pondicherry on the way visit Gangaikondacholapuram temple and Chidambaram temple dedicated to Lord Shiva Nataraja. Drive continue to Pondicherry, on arrival check in hotel for overnight.
DAY 08 : PONDICHERRY :
Full day visit Pondicherry visit Arvindo Ahram, Museum, Auroville (French colony) and beaches, local market. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 09 : PONDICHERRY-MAHABALIPURAM :
Early in the morning drive to Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram). En route visit traditional village along with the sea sore, On arrival check in hotel, rest of the time free for relax. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 10 : MAHABALIPURAM-MADRAS(Chennai) :
Morning visit Mamallapuram, UNESCO world heritage site, was one of the Pallava kings capitals from Kanchipuram. They ruled the country after the end of Gupta Empire. Many temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishu since the suzerains became Lord Shiva's disciples during the VIIth century. You will discover the Spectacular Shore Temple facing the sea for thirteen centuries and the Rathas which are temples with a chariot shape. Late afternoon drive to Chennai, take flight to onward destinations. End the tour.
