Indian mountain include the Himalaya (North) Aravalis (North-West)
Sahyadris (Western Ghats) and Eastern Ghats (West Bengal to Tamil
Nadu) all are the Indian Mountain. The North Part of India “Indian
Himalaya” range covers the entire northern part of India,
nestling the mentioned states of the country within it. Jammu &
Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, & Sikkim, North Eastern
States are Assam, Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalay,
& Mizoram. The ancient Indian pilgrims who have traveled in
these mountains since time immemorial have coined a Sanskrit word
for the Himalayas meaning "Abode of Snow".
Indian Himalaya consists of Arunachal, Sikkim, Uttaranchal, Himachal,
Jammu & Kashmir and Eastern Karakoram. Though there are more
than 8000 m high altitude peaks in India except the Kangchenjunga,
there are several peaks which are above 7000 m and a few of them
are still unclimbed. A large number of peaks between 6000 to 7000
